Whether it is as a patient/client or as a student, some people come to me with physical pain and ailments and others with deep emotional wounds. Some just want to experience a deep and profound relaxation in which their body and mind can truly rest and rejuvenate, while others are on a path of self-actualization and are ready to clear any remaining blockages keeping them from reaching their full potential.
Sometimes we can get so busy and not even realize the initial, negative effects of stress until it hits hard. With the Acudragon® Wellness System not only do you relax quickly, but your innate, natural healing ability is accelerated. Regardless if you are in great health and want to stay that way or if you are experiencing a range of health issues, everyone is usually more relaxed after a healing session or class experience.
You may not realize that different problems may have the same root cause. When we work one on one, we choose which methods are best for you based on your condition and goals. Usually you will see significant results in one to three sessions. While there is plenty on the menu to choose from, in some cases these may not be the best for you or you may benefit from adding another type of therapy or treatment. If we determine that is the case, I will recommend other modalities and often be able to refer you to a qualified practitioner.
Have you ever been told, “It’s all in your head.” Whatever is in your head is also in your body. Sometimes the problem is still on an energetic level and cannot be detected using modern medicine. What you are feeling is real and if addressed, can potentially prevent worse problems later.
My road to healing and transformation began with my passion for the martial arts. I feel extremely lucky and blessed to have trained with some incredible masters of the 20 th century. Many of them were not only highly achieved in martial arts but also in healing and spirituality.
I recently realized that there is only one degree of separation between me and one of my idols and earliest teachers who I never met personally, Bruce Lee. As a martial artist and actor he was a pioneer on many levels. From a martial arts perspective, he was interested in what was practical. He was open to both learning arts of other cultures as well as teaching students from other cultures. His system, known as Jeet Kune Do or the Way of the Intercepting Fist, taught basic, practical fighting methods that could be catered to the individual.
In the same way, I have explored practical healing methods over the last 30 years that can be catered to the individual’s desires and needs. I learned early on that certain methods that I once did not believe in, like hypnosis and acupuncture, were actually quite powerful and practical in helping people with a variety of problems and issues. Like Bruce, I found incorporating Taoist philosophy into my work as an acupuncturist and teacher led me to the bigger picture of helping people heal themselves and the world around us.
On my first trip to China in 1988, I had hoped to deepen my study of Taijiquan and Qigong. Circumstances also led me to begin my study of acupuncture as well. The interpreter of my group acted like an older brother to me and gave me the Chinese name of Little Dragon (Xiao Long). At first I told him I could not accept the name because I knew it was the nickname given to Bruce Lee, perhaps the greatest martial artist in my lifetime. Part of me did not feel worthy of having this name. He insisted and gave me a long list of reasons why this had to be my Chinese name. I decided to accept it. And although I know many martial artists who wish they could be like Bruce Lee, I took this name and my training very seriously.
The Acudragon® Wellness System will continue to evolve as I strive for the best ways to help people heal and transform their lives. I am always continuing to learn how to be the best I can be and how to help others do the same. In an interview, Bruce Lee once said, “Be like water….” This simple statement is profound for both the martial arts and healing professions.
