This crisis, regardless of origin and regardless of any manipulations attached to it, has and will trigger emotional/survival reactions in many of us. This can sometimes lead to impulsive decisions or emotional reactions that can be hurtful to yourself or others.
For some who work well under stress or have survived unspeakable atrocities in the past or have a grounded body-mind-spirit practice, this crisis will be a walk in the park. It does not mean absence of any pain or suffering, but perhaps some have had many tools in their toolbox for unforseen stressors.
At one of our past Dimos School of Intuitive Arts Weekend gatherings, Stephani Dimopoulos and Liz Fawcett put an inner child spin on our self-reflective portion of the weekend. It was a surprise to me and was also a way to share my parenting your inner child book before a local book signing. As I usually do, I participated in the self-reflection because our self-healing is ongoing as long as we live and choose to be on a path.
One of the exercises was to write a letter to your inner child which would be later mailed to you randomly by Liz. I remember being confused when I got a letter months later with an envelope with what looked like my handwriting. Anyway, I share this to offer you an exercise that can give you a tool for now and for any future crises to come.
Connect to your Higher, Most Evolved Self and write a letter to any and all of your inner children that may be feeling any difficult emotions.
No need to snail mail it to yourself (although maybe try that another time). I guess you could email it to yourself. For me, I prefer to write on paper, the old-fashioned way.
Once done, take a little break and then read it. Refer to it anytime.
My letter basically reminded me of all of my training, the obstacles I have overcome and what I need to do to continue on my path.
It is a gentle reminder that helps me keep things in perspective. Please share with your people who may need to tap into their inner inspiration in these and future challenging times.
Wishing you all the best.
Wm.
